Top, three different goggle types, including leather and cloth versions of the ‘Featherweight’ pattern which became the Army General Purpose Goggle (late 1920s to early 1940s), all marked SLM. Bottom, (bot-to-top) 1940, 1941, 1942. All are made of brass. These examples show the 1940 and 1942 ones are lacquered, allowing the polished brass to show through, but the 1941 pair has opaque light brown enamel.
